The twelve songs on the debut album “fuck” are diamonds in the rough arranged with great sensitivity. Although “raw” is perhaps the wrong word – despite the straightforward handwriting, the songs are extremely complex. If you listen carefully, you will discover text passages and references that take you through 40 years of alternative music history. So maybe more of a patchwork collage. A musical crossword puzzle for overused synapses. A fountain of youth – designed by Marcel Duchamp.
And yet morsch create a very unique sound that doesn’t follow the usual narratives. No retro revival, no hip nostalgia. The CR-8000 ticks stoically, and Gabi sings, screams and croaks with unvarnished honesty about everything that came, is and will come after “No Future” in such a human life.
