ASSIGNMENTS<\/strong> is a project from musician and performer Phil Hayes<\/strong> (Phil Hayes & The Trees). In the midst of the Lockdown last year, whilst realising that everything he usually does is a collaboration, Phil wrote to some fellow artist colleagues from around the planet and asked them for an assignment \u2013 the title and first line of a song \u2013 Maybe there’s a song they’d like to hear that no-one’s written yet?<\/p>\r\n


ASSIGNMENTS #2<\/em> <\/a>contains six new songs with song titles and first lines suggested by: Kim Noble (London), Shawn Sides (Austin TX), Dominic Oppliger (Z\u00fcrich) Jen Rosenblit (NYC \/ Berlin) and Sahar Rahimi (Munich).<\/p>\r\n

Daniel Nievergelt (Floorbrothers) plays Guitars and Bass
David Langhard (Howlong Wolf, Neutral Zone) plays Piano.<\/p>\r\n



ASSIGNMENTS #1<\/a><\/em> \u2013 released in November 2020 \u2013 contained songs written by Phil after song titles and and first lines suggested by: Jacob Wren (Canada), Paloma Ayala (Mexico\/ Switzerland), Charbel Haber (Lebanon), Ren\u00e9e van Trier (Netherlands) and Erin Hawkins (Canada).<\/p>\r\n


ASSIGNMENTS #1<\/em><\/a> also made the best of 2020 lists for both best songs and albums on the Sounds! Programme on Swiss national radio SRF3 and was played on stations as far afield as WFMU in NYC.<\/p>\r\n
